The calculation of SMC sheet machine capacity is mainly based on the sheet’s width, thickness, production speed and equipment running time. The following are general calculation formulas and steps:
1. Calculate hourly output
Capacity (kg/h) = sheet width (m) × sheet thickness (m) × production speed (m/min) × density (kg/m³) × 60
• Sheet width: the actual sheet width produced (unit: meter).
• Sheet thickness: the average thickness of the sheet (unit: meter).
• Production speed: the length of the machine running per minute (unit: meter/minute).
• Density: the density of SMC material (usually between 1.8 – 2.0 kg/m³).
2. Example calculation
Assume that the specifications of the produced sheet are as follows:
• Width: 1.2 m
• Thickness: 2 mm (0.002 m)
• Production speed: 6 m/min
• Density: 1.9 kg/m³
Production capacity = 1.2×0.002×6×1.9×60
Production capacity = 16.416 kg/h
3. Calculate by shift or daily output
Operating time per shift: 8 hours
Capacity per shift (kg) = capacity per hour × 8 Daily capacity (kg) = capacity per hour × number of working hours
For example, working 10 hours a day:
Daily capacity = 16.416kg/h × 10 = 164.16kg
Notes:
1. Equipment efficiency: Downtime, maintenance, and material waste may affect the actual output. It is recommended to consider 85%-90% equipment efficiency.
2. Density change: The change in raw material density will directly affect the calculation results. The parameters need to be adjusted according to the actual formula.
3. Thickness and speed adjustment: The speed needs to be appropriately reduced when producing thick slices, while the speed can be appropriately increased for thin slices.
